Happy Sunday! We are going to start a tradition of giving you a guide to all the things you can do with your toddler this week. This list will be geared toward children ages 2-5. Also, this is a curated list, not everything available. Most libraries in our area have something going on every single day! We are so lucky!


** Starred events are independent, for when you need a break. You will still need to stay on the premises!


Monday, April 27

**9:30am - Preschool Story Time at Woodridge Library, "Exciting interactive play, music, and stories for your preschool child. Kids are encouraged to attend independently; they will have a great time while learning social skills.

Registration is required.

You may register for up to one (1) story program each week per child.

Register your child for each individual event date you want to attend.

Preschool children are encouraged to attend storytimes independently."


Tuesday, April 28

10:30am - Music & Movement at Lisle Library, "Stretch, sing, dance, and jump along in this active Storytime that promotes early literacy skills while encouraging children to move and play. Each week will focus on a different form of movement. This week is DANCE.

For ages 3-6. Registration required.."

6:30pm - Sensory Storytime at Fountaindale Library, "Enjoy a welcoming and sensory-friendly storytime for children with autism, neurodivergence and physical disabilities. Please register so we can ensure a comfortable sensory experience. (All ages)"

5:00pm - K-Pop Demon Hunter Dance Party at the Naper Blvd. Library, "Get ready to power up and shine at a K-Pop dance party full of music, movement, and creativity! We'll show everyone how it's "done, done, done" as we dance, craft, and let the color stuck inside your head burst out! Open to all ages."


Friday, May 1

10:00am - ARTstravaganza! Paper Towel Painting at Lisle Library, "Don't make a mess at home, come to the Library! Each week we will have a different craft or sensory experience. Stay for a few minutes or the whole hour of fun! This week, we'll experiment with paper towels and watercolors! For ages 2-6."


1:00pm - No School Movie Matinee at Woodridge Library, "Free family fun! Come to the library on this day off school for a movie and snack on us.

Please register ALL family members who will attend. Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult."


4:00pm - Stinkin' Cute Storytime at 95th Street Library, "Calling all stinkin' cute artists! Join us for a hilarious storytime that is sure to leave you "pooped." We'll be reading "Henry is an Artist," a story about a dog whose "art" goes unappreciated until his work is discovered by a new audience. Then, you'll create your own Henry-inspired art to take home, proof that creativity can come from the most unexpected places. Open to all ages, but geared toward ages 3-5 with a grownup."


6:30pm - Friday Night Sing-Along : Oliver and Company at the Lisle Library, "Registration will close on May 1, 2026 @ 6:30pm.

This event is for registrants age 4 to 14.

Come and sing-along to an animated classic - this month, we're singing along to Oliver & Company. This film is rated G."


Saturday, May 2

9:00am - Home Depot Kids Workshop, Keepsake Box REGISTRATION REQUIRED


10:00am - Cookies and Crayons at Lisle Library, "Come have a snack and make some fabulous art on Saturday morning. Completed works of art will be posted in the Youth Services Department for everyone to admire, with artist permission, of course!
